Between 2013 and 2014, Brevard County and local municipalities passed ordinances implementing fertilizer restrictions in order to comply with regulatory agencies and improve the conditions of local waterways, with special attention toward the Indian River Lagoon. Brevard’s seasonal fertilizer bans run June 1 thru Sept. 30.
