Public Scoping of the Environmental Assessment for the SpaceX Roberts Road Operations Area Expansion
NASA-KSC is required to make decisions based on environmental factors over technical and economic factors, involve the public in its environmental analysis, document it in plain language, and find the least environmentally damaging ways to work.
The purpose of SpaceX’s current proposal is to consolidate it’s Kennedy Space Center operations within a contiguous campus in order to increase operational capabilities, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
The North Indian River Lagoon National Estuary including Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore comprise the largest undeveloped coastal zone remaining on Florida’s East Coast.
